General Participants
1. How do I take part in the initiative?
Participation is only available through the purchase of the official Towards SG70 Letter Kit. There are no downloadable templates. After writing your letter, you must mail or drop it off to us – not to your recipient. We will safekeep it for 10 years before returning it.
2. Will anyone read my letter?
No. The contents of your letter remain private and confidential. Our team does not read, copy, or reproduce your letter, except where necessary for verification, logistics, or legal requirements.
3. Will my letter be shared publicly?
No. Letters submitted to Towards SG70 are not shared or displayed publicly, and will never be disclosed to third parties without your explicit written consent.
4. How will my letter be stored?
Your letter will be kept in secure controlled storage for up to 10 years. Each submission is recorded and tracked as part of our archival process to ensure responsible safekeeping.
5. What happens after 10 years?
At the end of the safekeeping period, your letter will be returned based on the contact details provided during submission. Participants are responsible for keeping their mailing and contact information updated.
6. What if my contact details change over the years?
You may contact us to update your details at any time. If a letter becomes undeliverable due to outdated information, Towards Sg70 will not be liable for unsuccessful delivery.
7. Is my personal data protected?
Yes. Personal data provided through your participation will be used only for programme administration, communication, verification, and letter-return arrangements, and handled in accordance with our Data Protection & Privacy.
8. Is there a risk of loss or damage?
We take every reasonable measure to safeguard submissions. However, in rare and unforeseen circumstances (such as natural disasters, system failures, or storage incidents), absolute prevention of loss or damage cannot be guaranteed.
9. Are purchases refundable?
All Towards SG70 Letter Kits are non-refundable and non-returnable once purchased.
10. Can I submit letters without purchasing the kit?
No. Only letters submitted using the official Towards SG70 Letter Kit will be accepted as part of the programme.
11. How to write and submit your letter?
Step 1: Register your letter
Scan the QR code provided on the back of your envelope to:
- Create an account to register
- Key in your particulars
Step 2: Decide on your recipient
Choose whom you would like to write to.
Step 3: Write your message
Express your thoughts, memories, life lessons, or hopes for the future. Write from the heart.
Step 4: Add a personal touch
Decorate your letter with stickers, drawings, or your own creative flair.
Step 5: Seal your letter
Place your completed letter into the provided envelope and seal it securely.
Step 6: Submit your letter
After completing your letter, please submit it to us for safekeeping using one of the options below:

Important:
If you are mailing your letter to us, please place your safekeeping letter inside a separate protective outer envelope before posting. Do not write our mailing address on the safekeeping letter itself – only on the outer envelope – to prevent damage or markings on your letter.
Schools & Education Partners
1. Can schools participate in the Towards SG70 initiative?
Yes. Schools are welcome to participate as part of character education, heritage, or intergenerational learning programmes. Each student must purchase an official Towards SG70 Letter Kit to submit a letter for safekeeping.
2. Do you offer school bundles or group orders?
Yes. We provide bulk order arrangements for schools and youth organisations. Facilitation options or activity support may also be discussed based on cohort needs.
3. Can teachers conduct the letter-writing session in class?
Yes. Schools may run the session internally. After writing, students must return their letters to us via collection or mailing for 10-year safekeeping. Letters should not be sent to recipients directly.
4. Are the letters read or assessed by the programme team?
No. All letters remain private and confidential and are not used for grading, assessment, or public display.
5. Who can students write to?
Students may write to:
- their future self
- their parents or loved ones
- their future family
- their future community or future Singapore
The letter will be returned in 10 years according to the mailing details provided.
6. What administrative support do schools receive?
Schools may receive:
- participation briefing information
- submission and logistics guidelines
- coordination support for bulk returns
Additional resources may be discussed upon request.
7. Who owns the letters written by students?
The letters belong to the individual participants. Towards SG70 serves only as a custodian for safekeeping and future return.
Corporate / CSR & Community Organisations
1. Can organisations support this initiative as part of CSR?
Yes. Organisations may participate by:
- sponsoring letter kits for staff, families, or beneficiaries
- funding kits for underserved communities
- collaborating on community engagement or heritage-themed programmes
This initiative aligns with CSR themes such as heritage preservation, wellbeing, intergenerational bonds, and social inclusion.
2. Can we purchase kits in bulk for employees or beneficiaries?
Yes. Corporate and community partners may make bulk or sponsored purchases of the Towards SG70 Letter Kits. Partnership acknowledgements may be discussed where appropriate.
3. Can our organisation host a letter-writing activity or booth?
Yes – collaboration may be explored for:
- staff engagement events
- community outreach activities
- national or heritage-themed campaigns
- charity or beneficiary programmes
Event activations are subject to availability and programme guidelines.
4. Will letters written during CSR activities be made public?
No. All letters remain private and confidential and are not shared or displayed without explicit participant consent.
5. Can we request anonymised insights for impact reporting?
Where appropriate, we may provide programme-level reflections or anonymised summaries, but never the personal contents of letters, and only with prior consent and alignment to privacy terms.
6. Do you work with social service or community partners?
Yes – we welcome collaborations with:
- social service agencies and VWOs
- community and grassroots organisations
- family, youth, and senior programmes
- inclusion and outreach initiatives
